All headers have a .500 1/2 inch thick top plate where it bolts to the side of the cylinder head. We have carried the same brand of headers now for 16 years. Over the years, this header company, has made improvements suggested by our company. They have made a number of these changes willingly to improve their product long before the other big roadster parts house entered the picture. All of these changes and improvements cost the company considerable time, effort and expense to cover the new costs. Anyone bad mounthing a 1/2 inch flange header is doing so because they are stuck with alot of 3/8 inch flange product that the same company no longer makes because they opted for the 1/2 incn flange.

No! We are not twisting your arm to buy these thicker flange versions. In fact we are selling this version less than just about any other vendor. All of our headers, unless noted, come with thicker COMPOSITE metal-sheathed gaskets that will last longer than the economy ones provided by the header company. They are provided at no extra charge though they cost us a pretty penny.

It should be noted that 1600 owners should use the short U20 starter or the short gear reduction unit as there is less clearance between the header pipe and the end of the 1600 starter. We know that you will benefit from these changes and appreciate your business!
