Cylinder Head G15 R16 Cylinder Head U20 Exhaust	Partnumber: 2208 Datsun Roadster Smog Plug Insert - Set OF 4 Datsun Roadster, set of four, smog plug inserts for 68 -70 1600 and 2000 cylinder heads. These inserts were reverse engineered to screw into the ports in the head where the air injectors were installed as smog equipment. They have the exact thread and contour of the injectors and fill the entire cavity; both the threaded portion and the smooth bore. This completely eliminates that annoying �chirping� sound caused by engine exhaust passing over the tube, which creates a resonant chamber (like a badly played flute). Once installed, you�ll be amazed at hearing only the smooth hum of the exhaust out the tailpipe. The clucking chicken in your engine will be dead and gone! Does not include clucking chicken. Also not necessary to double stack two stock gaskets, more expensive than his one, and pray for this method to stay sealed. 1ST photo. Stock thickness gasket on the left. New thicker gasket on the right.This all new gasket is .105 thick compared to the Nissan stock gasket which measures .053 at the fire ring. Why buy a thicker head gasket? During a R16 cylinder heads life span it can be surfaced many times to the point where the head is nearly unusable. If your head has been overheated and warped it requires either oven straitening, expensive, or a re-surfacing of both sides of the head in order for it to be flat again. Thinner cylinder head castings have a serious problem of diminished chamber volume resulting in higher compression and detonation. If you are using dome pistons mechanical interference with the valve pocket will lead to either small end or big end rod bearing failure. The valve pocket can be professionally and carefully machined, at an additional cost, so as to provide mechanical clearance for the pistons, but this does correct the problem of subsequent and undesirable higher compression.This new gasket gives you the opportunity to correct the issue of a overly planed cylinder head by lowering the compression and by providing adequate clearance between the pistons and the valve pocket.
