These early valve seals install at the top of the retainer on early 1500 and 1600 cast iron and some aluminum cylinder heads. Not very effective to say the least. You can convert your head to the later style valve seals. Click here to see these seals, which require a slight modification to the area around the guide on the cylinder head.
