In U20 applications, it will also lower compression and/or make the upper chain tight. In addition, all factory and aftermarket gaskets can suffer in both applications because the bore area of the gaskets are always made oversized to accomodate oversized pistons. Our copper gaskets are made to match the bore of your motor.Please specify the piston oversize and the gasket thickness when ordering.

R16 Nissan head gasket thickness is .062. Most aftermarket R16 gaskets are.054 thick. U20 Nissan head gasket thickness is .054 thick and Stone aftermarket gasket.058 thick. Add these numbers to how much has been milled off the bottom of your head for R16 heads and the top and bottom of U20 heads. In regards to U20 cylinder heads. Call us to figure out how much has been removed from the top of your head if you do not know how to compute this number. We will help you arrive at the correct numbers. Special note. We can and will supply the correct early style o-ring valve seals to customers for pre ear type valve stem seal heads. We recommend replacing them with the later style pictured as they work better. They do require modification for early heads. Call for more details and help.
